Gulf Jobz ("the App", "we", "us") is a two-sided job marketplace for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Candidates publish a professional profile to be discovered by employers, and employers subscribe to view candidate contact details. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Who this applies to
The App has three roles, each with one account: candidates (job seekers), employers (hiring companies), and administrators (operations). The data we process depends on your role, as described below.
2. Information we collect
Account & authentication
Sign in with Apple is the only sign-in method. From it we receive a unique Apple user identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address). We do not receive or store your Apple password.
Candidate profile
Contact details (sensitive): full name, phone number, and email address. These are stored separately and disclosed only to employers with an active subscription, and only while your profile is visible and available (see §4).
Profile data: date of birth (used to display your age), gender, nationality, country/city of residence, preferred GCC countries, visa status, job title, industry, years-of-experience range, skills, languages, education level, certifications, salary expectations, and notice period.
Visibility & consent: your availability toggle, profile visibility window, and your acceptance (date and version) of the consent that your profile may be viewed by subscribed employers while active.
Employer profile
Contact person name, business phone (optional), company name, country/city, sector, company size, and website (optional).
Usage, device & technical data
Notifications: device push tokens (Apple Push Notification service via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you alerts.
Profile views: when an employer views a candidate, we record an anonymized view to power the "your profile was viewed" notification. The viewing employer's identity is not revealed to the candidate.
Analytics & diagnostics: aggregated app-usage and performance data via Firebase Analytics.
Advertising identifier: if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, advertising identifiers may be used to show more relevant ads (free users only — see §6).
Purchases: records of your subscriptions/purchases (product, status, dates) needed to grant access. Payment is processed by Apple; we never receive or store your card or payment-method details.
3. How we use your information
To operate the marketplace: create your account, publish candidate profiles, and let employers search and contact candidates.
To process in-app subscriptions and purchases and grant the corresponding access.
To send service notifications (e.g. visibility expiring, profile viewed, subscription updates).
To display advertising to free users, and to measure, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
To enforce our terms, prevent abuse/fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share your information
With employers (core function): a candidate's public profile is visible to authenticated employers. A candidate's contact details (name, phone, email) are revealed only to an employer with an active subscription, and only while the candidate's profile is visible and available. This gating is enforced on our servers, not merely in the app.
Service providers: Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, messaging, analytics, hosting) — data is stored in the Google Cloud me-central1 (Doha, Qatar) region; Google AdMob (advertising); and Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, push notifications).
Legal: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data location & retention
Personal data is stored in Google Cloud (me-central1, Doha). We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account in the App, we permanently remove your profile, contact details, saved relationships, notification tokens, and purchase records associated with your account, and revoke your Sign in with Apple token. Some records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Advertising & tracking
Free users may see ads served by Google AdMob. Before showing personalized ads we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency and a consent prompt. You can decline, and you can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Paying users (subscribed employers, or candidates who purchased visibility) do not see ads.
7. Your rights & choices
Access & correction: view and edit your profile in the App.
Deletion: delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your data as described in §5.
Notifications: manage push permissions in iOS Settings.
Depending on your location (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, port, restrict, or object to processing. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children
Gulf Jobz is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
9. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit, authenticated access, server-side security rules, and the strict contact-information gating described in §4. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice.
