Privacy Policy — Gulf Numbers

This Privacy Policy describes how Gulf Numbers (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles your information when you use our iOS application. Gulf Numbers is developed and operated by Hamam A. Alabdulla, an indie developer based in Doha, Qatar.

Gulf Numbers is designed to need as little of your data as possible. There are no user accounts. There is no signup. We do not run servers that store information about you.

1. Information stored on your device

The following are stored on your device only, using Apple’s SwiftData framework. They never leave your device, and we have no way to read them:

Your language preference (English or Arabic)
The institutions you mark as favorites
Your in-app purchase status (whether you have unlocked Premium)
App settings (e.g., “confirm before calling”, “copy with country code”)
Recent search terms within the app

2. Information collected by third parties

Google AdMob (non-Premium users only)

Gulf Numbers shows banner ads to non-Premium users via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:

A unique advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt
Device type, OS version, and approximate (city/region) location
Ad interaction events (which ads were displayed and tapped)

This data is collected and processed by Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

After you purchase Premium, no ads are shown and no advertising data is collected.

Apple StoreKit

When you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple’s StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and provides us with a transaction receipt confirming the purchase. We do not receive any personal information that could identify you. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

3. Information we do not collect

To be explicit, Gulf Numbers does not collect, transmit, or store on any server:

Your name, email, phone number, or any account information
Your contacts or address book
The phone calls you place from the app
The institutions you view or look up
Your precise location

The app has no analytics framework integrated. There is no crash reporting tied to your identity. There is no backend that knows you used the app.

4. Third-party services accessed on demand

When you tap an action in the app, the following services may receive data as part of that action:

Apple Maps — when you choose “Open in Apple Maps”
Google Maps — when you choose “Open in Google Maps”; subject to Google’s Privacy Policy
Apple Siri / Spotlight — when you use voice shortcuts or system search
The system dialer — when you tap to call a number

These services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

5. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not collect data from you on our own servers.

6. Data retention

Local data persists on your device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

7. Children’s privacy

Gulf Numbers is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from children. The app’s content (phone numbers for government, emergency, healthcare, and commercial institutions) is not directed specifically at children.

8. International transfers

We do not transfer your data internationally because we do not collect data. Third-party services we integrate with (Google, Apple) may transfer data across borders as part of their normal operations; their policies govern those transfers.

9. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data of yours that we can access, modify, or delete on your behalf. You can:

Reset App Tracking Transparency permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
Delete all local app data by uninstalling the app
Disable advertising tracking system-wide in iOS Settings

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
