Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Gulf War (“the app”, “we”, “our”) handles information when you use the app. The app is developed and maintained by Hamam Alabdulla (“the developer”). By using Gulf War, you agree to the practices described below.

Summary

Gulf War is a single-player arcade game. It does not require a user account.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob and offers in-app purchases through Apple StoreKit.
The app integrates with Apple Game Center for leaderboards and achievements.
Gameplay progress and settings are stored on your device. We do not operate a server and do not collect, store, or transmit this data to us.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

Gulf War does not ask you to create an account or enter personal information. If you choose to email us, we will see your email address and message contents.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Apple Game Center — If you are signed into Game Center on your device, the app submits:

Your Game Center player identifier (provided by Apple)
Your scores to leaderboards you play against
Your unlocked achievements

Apple handles the storage, display, and deletion of this data. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

In-app purchases — When you purchase an item (Remove Ads, Premium Unlock, coin packs), Apple processes the transaction. The app stores an entitlement flag locally so it can restore your purchase. We never receive your payment information — Apple handles it entirely. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

On-device storage — The app saves the following on your device only, using Apple’s UserDefaults and SwiftData:

Gameplay progress (level unlocks, star ratings, coin balance)
Audio and control preferences
Language preference (English / Arabic)
Bomb-hint onboarding state

This data never leaves your device. Deleting the app removes it.

1.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)

Gulf War shows banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). To deliver ads, Google and its partners may collect:

Your device advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you grant tracking permission when prompted by iOS
Coarse device information (model, operating-system version, language)
IP address (used to approximate location for ad relevance)
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

If you decline App Tracking Transparency, the IDFA is not shared with Google, and ads are shown without personalization.

You may also opt out of personalized ads system-wide at Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising on iOS, and at adssettings.google.com for Google’s ad network.

2. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

Provide and maintain core app functionality (progress saving, language)
Show ads (through Google AdMob) and handle purchases (through Apple)
Integrate with Game Center leaderboards and achievements
Respond to direct contact emails

We do not:

Sell your personal information
Share your data with third parties beyond the service providers listed above (Apple, Google)
Track your location
Access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera

3. Third-party services

Gulf War integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle the data they collect:

4. Children’s privacy

Gulf War is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact dev.hamam@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete any such information.

For players in jurisdictions with a higher digital-consent age (e.g., the EU under GDPR), the same principle applies: the app is intended for users who have reached the applicable digital-consent age.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under applicable law (GDPR, CCPA, or similar):

Access — Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
Deletion — Request that we delete any personal information we hold about you
Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate information
Opt-out of personalized advertising — Decline tracking when prompted by iOS, or revoke consent later at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
Withdraw Game Center — Sign out of Game Center on your device to stop further leaderboard or achievement submissions

Because the app does not store your data on a server under our control, most exercise of these rights is done directly on your device (deleting the app, signing out of Game Center, resetting the advertising identifier). For anything else, email dev.hamam@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

On-device data is retained for as long as the app is installed.
Game Center data is retained by Apple under its own policies.
Purchase history is retained by Apple for receipt verification and restore-purchases functionality.
AdMob data is retained by Google under its own policies.

Uninstalling the app removes all on-device data. To remove Game Center and purchase history, contact Apple.

7. International data transfers

Service providers listed above (Apple, Google) may process data in the United States and other countries outside your region. These companies operate under their own international data-transfer frameworks (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses for EU transfers).

8. Security

We use standard security practices and rely on the security measures of the service providers listed above. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You agree that you use the app at your own risk.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may additionally notify users through the app or the App Store listing. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
