Support

Qiblatee helps you find the Qibla direction toward Makkah, use manual location when needed, verify direction on a map, use AR Qibla guidance, calculate worldwide prayer times on iPhone and iPad or use the preserved Qatar reference timetable, and keep a simple saved Tasbih counter. It also includes an Apple Watch app with Watch face complications, and iPhone and iPad Home and Lock Screen iqama widgets.

Prayer reminders and location

Prayer reminders, the short Athan and sunrise beep are free. Open Prayer Times → Prayer reminders to enable all five daily prayers. Reminders, sounds and sunrise start off. Enable Sunrise reminder for a separate sunrise notification; Reminder sounds uses a short Athan opening for prayers and a gentle beep for sunrise. Leave sounds off for silent notifications. Allow notifications when asked; if access is denied, use Open Settings and return to Qiblatee.

Qiblatee schedules up to seven days from your confirmed prayer location and displayed calculation settings (or the Qatar reference). The scheduled-through time is verified from notifications held by iOS. Open the app at least weekly to renew the schedule. A partial schedule shows an error and Retry. Normal iOS notification settings, Focus and Silent mode apply; delivery is not guaranteed in every state. This is not an alarm service.

Without a saved prayer location, Prayer Times offers current-location detection. Review the detected place, accuracy and time zone, then save. Saved places never change automatically. Online Assist resolves place names/time zones using Apple services; with Online Assist off or no connection, choose the time zone explicitly for detected coordinates. Manual entry is always available; search requires Online Assist and a connection. The compass location is separate.

Common Help

  • If the compass is unavailable, use Manual Location or Verify on Map.
  • If direction accuracy is low, move your device in a figure-eight motion and keep it away from magnets, metal, and electronics.
  • If location access is denied, open iOS Settings, select Qiblatee, and enable Location permission.
  • You can change language, appearance, location source, haptics, and saved locations from Settings.
  • Qiblatee Plus is a one-time purchase that unlocks advanced tools; the core Qibla direction remains free.

Privacy Policy

Qiblatee is designed to calculate Qibla direction without accounts, ads, tracking, third-party analytics, or a Qiblatee backend.

Full Athan in version 1.6

Full Athan is free, bundled with the app and available offline on iPhone and iPad. Tap Play beside a prayer or tap a current prayer reminder to start the recording once. The player supports pause, seeking and stop, and audio can continue after you lock the phone. Delivery alone never starts full Athan; prayer alerts use a 23-second excerpt when sounds are enabled and remain subject to Silent mode, Focus and iOS notification settings.

Playback restoration stays on your device and restores paused. Playing Athan does not contact an audio server or add tracking, analytics or an account. Restoration records remain until replaced through player use or the app and its data are deleted; offloading keeps data, and device backups are managed through Apple settings. Version 1.6 does not include Quran streaming or downloads.

The recording is by Ahmad Fakhroo, muezzin of the Imam Muhammad bin Abdulwahhab Mosque in Qatar; source: Islamweb, with ©2014 in the recording metadata. The full recording is unchanged; the alert uses its first 23 seconds, converted to mono with brief edge fades. Attribution does not imply an open licence or official endorsement. This page does not offer the new recording as a download.

Data We Use

  • Location is optional for qibla and an explicitly saved prayer-location snapshot. Prayer location is separate from compass location.
  • You can use manual location instead of current location.
  • Preferences such as language, appearance, saved manual locations, prayer coordinates/time zone/calculation settings, Tasbih count, and local quality counters stay on your device.
  • Online Assist sends city queries and optional place/time-zone lookup coordinates to Apple. Manual coordinates plus a confirmed time zone and saved calculations work offline.
  • Worldwide prayer times are calculated on iPhone and iPad using the MIT-licensed Adhan Swift library. The offline Qatar Calendar House reference (via TaqweemQatar, MIT) is a separate source. Watch prayer schedules, complications and iqama widgets remain Qatar-only; the free calculated prayer-times Home Screen widget shows your chosen location worldwide. These are not mosque-specific iqama times.

The calculated widget reads a seven-day display cache shared locally with the app on this device. It follows the saved prayer location, calculation method and app language; it does not track travel or request location/network access. Small shows the next prayer; medium and large also show daily times. Reopen the app when the cache expires. Calculated widgets support the Home Screen only; Qatar iqama widgets retain their Home and Lock Screen families.

Data retention, deletion and permissions

Saved settings, locations, reminder choices and counters stay on your device until you change or delete them, or delete the app and its local data. Offloading the app keeps its data. Copies in device backups are managed through Apple’s backup settings; Qiblatee has no server-side copy. To cancel scheduled reminders, turn off Prayer reminders in the app. You can revoke location, camera and notification permissions in system Settings.

Data We Do Not Collect

Qiblatee does not collect personal information, does not create accounts, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not upload your location to Qiblatee servers.

Local prayer notifications

Optional local notifications are scheduled on your device. Qiblatee does not send your saved location to a notification server and does not use APNs for prayer reminders. Notification text includes the prayer or sunrise and the chosen place name; your device's lock-screen preview settings control visibility. Reminder choices and the confirmed prayer location remain in local app storage. Apple place lookup follows Online Assist; obtaining current coordinates uses foreground location permission. There is no background travel tracking. A saved location can calculate and schedule prayers offline. Existing purchase, widget and Watch behavior remains as described in the current policy.

Permissions

Location and camera permissions are optional. If you deny location access, you can still use manual location. Camera permission is used only for AR Qibla camera guidance.
