Terms of Use
Last updated: 24 July 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Papyra (ورقتي) app for iPhone and iPad ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to Apple's standard licence described below.
1. Licence
The App is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under the terms of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard "Apple EULA"), except where superseded by these Terms. That agreement grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. These house Terms add to, and do not replace, the Apple EULA; if the two ever conflict on a point these Terms address, these Terms apply for that point.
2. Acceptable use
Use the App only for lawful purposes and only for documents you have the right to scan and store. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the App except as permitted by the Apple EULA or applicable law.
3. Your content
The documents you scan are yours. Papyra processes them on your device and does not upload, access, or claim any rights over them. You are responsible for keeping your own backups; see the Privacy Policy for how your content is handled (in short: it stays on your device).
4. Subscriptions and one-time purchases
The App offers optional Pro features through auto-renewing subscriptions (available on weekly, monthly, and annual terms) and a one-time lifetime purchase. The following applies to purchases:
- Prices are shown in the App before purchase, in your local currency, and may vary by region.
- Free trial. The annual plan may include a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription. Papyra shows you a reminder before this happens.
- Auto-renewal. A subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Payment and refunds are handled by Apple through your App Store account and are subject to the App Store Terms of Service. Refund requests are made to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Text recognition (OCR) and edge detection are best-effort and may not be perfect, particularly on low-quality, handwritten, or unusual documents. You are responsible for verifying that a scanned or exported document is accurate and complete for your purposes.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Because your documents are stored only on your device, keep your own backups of anything important.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
8. Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements is governed by the Apple EULA and App Store Terms of Service.
